Green Eye Data - Practical Application

Dynamic Investigations of Structures

VCE has specialized in the field of dynamic investigations of structures and has developed the inspection system BRIMOS® (BRIdge MOnitoring System).

BRIMOS® is based on the analysis of the dynamic characteristic of structures. Similar to parameter classification from mechanical engineering where such methods have already matured to standard tools, individual parameters are extracted from the recorded raw data and then interpreted. Measurements from the snapshot up to permanent monitoring produce the required raw data.

Due to long-standing development work it was possible to construct a hardware system which fulfils the respective technical standards. Trough the development of the tailor-made software, the BRIMOS® programme, for the analysis of the measurement results, VCE has a complete, sophisticated equipment. An own software tool has been developed for the data management and visualization, that is now available under the name Green Eye Data also for other users.

For more information please visit the BRIMOS-Homepage.

SAMCO- Structural Assessment Monitoring and Control

Within the EU project SAMCO a free accessible internet database has been developed, in order to support and encourage the data and information exchange between experts in the field and to provide an overview for end users over the existing technologies.

In the SAMCO Database you find more areas of application for Green Eye. Beside of raw data, also the Green Eye tools are available there. Consequently Green Eye is offered to the researchers in the field of SAMCO and has already been applied in laboratory tests and long-term projects in the frame of SAMCO:

Permanent Monitoring Stations have been installed in the frame of SAMCO by the Darmstadt University of Technology on three high rise buildings in Frankfurt, in order to investigate wind effects on these structures. The Green Eye tools are used successfully for the data conversion and presentation.

The ELSA Laboratory of the Joint Research Centres (JRC) of the European Union has one of the largest test facilities in Europe. Due to the close cooperation with VCE within many research projects, also the JRC belongs to the users community of the Green Eye products.

For more information on the work of the JRC please visit the ELSA-JRC-Homepage or the SAMCO database.
