VCE specializes in the field of dynamic structural analysis and developed the inspection system BRIMOSĀ® (BRIdge MOnitoring System).
This is based on the analysis of the dynamic characteristics of buildings. Similar to the parameter classification in mechanical engineering, where such methods have already matured into standard tools, individual parameters are extracted from the recorded raw data and fed to an interpretation. Measurements from snapshot to continuous monitoring produce the required raw data.
Due to many years of development work, it was possible to design a hardware system that meets the corresponding technical requirements. By developing tailor-made software, the BRIMOSĀ® program, to evaluate the measurement results, VCE now has complete, sophisticated equipment at its disposal. For measuring data management and visualization own software tools have been developed, which are now available to other users under the name of Green Eye Data.
More information about BRIMOS and projects can be found on the BRIMOS-Homepage
Under the EU SAMCO project, a freely accessible Internet database has been developed to promote the exchange of data and information between experts in the field and to provide end users with an overview of existing technologies.
In the SAMCO database there are further application fields for Green Eye. In addition to raw data, the database also includes the Green Eye Tools. Thus, Green Eye is also available to the scientists in the area of SAMCO and has already been used in laboratory tests as well as in long-term projects within the framework of SAMCO.
Permanent monitoring stations have been installed in the framework of SAMCO of the Technical University of Darmstadt and three different skyscrapers in Frankfurt, to investigate the effects of wind on buildings. The Green Eye tools have been used successfully for data conversion and presentation
The ELSA Laboratory of the Joint Research Center (JRC) of the European Union owns one of the largest testing facilities in Europe. Through close cooperation with VCE in several research projects, the JRC can also be counted among the users of the Green Eye Software
Reports on the work of the JRC can be found on the ELSA-JRC-Homepage and in the SAMCO Database
